Monotonic Atomic View

Monotonic Atomic View requires subsequent reads, after observing a transaction's write, to include its effects or later versions for the items read.

MAV alone can permit an earlier old read followed by a new read. The HAT paper combines MAV with item cut isolation to prevent read skew. Its forward-only condition differs from read-atomic isolation. [1]
