An NVMe reservation applies a selected host-access policy to an NVMe namespace.
Registration, acquisition and reporting are separate operations. The acquisition command selects among six reservation types, including registrants-only and all-registrants policies; a reservation is not synonymous with a single writer. [1] Reservation Report describes namespace state using controller records, so its controller count is not a unique-host count. [2]
