Pseudo-SLC (pSLC)
Operation of multi-bit-capable NAND in one-bit-per-cell mode, trading storage density for single-bit behavior.
This operating mode is not proof of native SLC media. Swissbit's 2020 EN-26 announcement specifies a full pSLC configuration, rather than only a transient write cache. The mode and the cache role are different concepts. Endurance and retention still require product-specific evidence. [1] [2]
Relations

- slc, slc-cache, mlc, tlc, qlc
Advantages
- Allows supported multi-bit NAND to use single-bit programming. [1]
Limitations
- SLC-like operation does not establish a universal endurance multiplier. [1]
