SATA PHY event counters
SATA PHY event counters record distinct interface events in General Purpose Log 0x11 rather than measuring a disk failure rate.
smartctl -l sataphy reads this log; adding ,reset clears its counters after reading. In smartmontools 7.5, event 0x000a describes register responses following COMRESET, whereas 0x000b concerns host-to-device CRC errors. Saturated counters are marked with +. Preserve device identity, timestamps and reset history when comparing observations; a counter is not a component diagnosis.
