SD capacity family
An SD capacity family specifies a card's standardized capacity range and associated file-system format, independently of its bus and performance class.
SD covers up to 2 GB with FAT12/FAT16; SDHC covers more than 2 GB through 32 GB with FAT32; SDXC covers more than 32 GB through 2 TB with exFAT; SDUC covers more than 2 TB through 128 TB with exFAT [1]. These are specification ranges, not a claim that every capacity is commercially available.
Capacity-family support must be checked separately from connector fit and transfer mode. A microSD form factor, an Express interface and an A2 rating answer different compatibility questions [1] [2].
