Curie-temperature distribution
Curie-temperature distribution is the spread of ferromagnetic transition temperatures across the grains of a recording medium.
Grain-size variation can produce this spread through finite-size effects [1]. It is not the spatial temperature variation created by the laser. The cited FePt study used nominally 10 nm-high grains with lateral sizes from 1 to 10 nm and repeated each Monte Carlo calculation 20 times; its small-grain crossover is specific to the modeled geometry. State whether a reported spread is in kelvin or normalized to a mean.
