Ext4 fast commit

Ext4 fast commit is a journaling mechanism that records metadata deltas for eligible updates instead of a full traditional metadata-block commit.

Linux v6.12 describes this for ordered mode, with fallback to full commits. [1] Replay targets recorded outcomes rather than blindly repeating procedures; the implementation also documents hardening work, so the design rationale is not a correctness certification. [2] See the explicitly synthetic interrupted-recovery model. [3]
