Independent access range (Linux)
A Linux independent access range is an advertised region of a block device that can service requests in parallel with its other reported regions.
Linux 6.14 documents /sys/block/<disk>/queue/independent_access_ranges/<index>/sector and nr_sectors in 512-byte units, independent of logical block size. Ranges cover the device without overlap. This is the kernel's representation, not the ATA log itself; absence does not establish the physical actuator count.
