Inter-flow interference

Inter-flow interference is the change in one I/O flow's behavior caused by other flows sharing storage resources.

Separate host submission queues can still feed shared mapping, cache, scheduling and flash resources. MQSim explicitly models those boundaries. Equal request counts do not establish equal internal work. [1]

An observed slowdown does not identify its cause by itself. Keep isolated baselines, load generation and device preparation comparable before attributing a difference to a co-running flow. [2]
