Raw capacity
Raw capacity is the sum of the addressable capacities of the devices in a storage system.
Scope: Raw capacity counts device space accessible through the storage interface, before system-level protection and formatting overhead. It is not a count of every physical bit in the media. Inaccessible error-correction and remapping areas are excluded from addressable capacity. [1] [2]
Comparison: State which devices are included and use consistent byte units. Raw capacity alone does not establish usable application space or the amount of reducible data that a configured array can retain. [3]
