Credit starvation
Credit starvation is a transmission stall in which a Fibre Channel sender has a frame ready but no available buffer-to-buffer credit.
An idle zero-credit snapshot does not establish a stall. Keep event counts separate from time spent waiting and inspect both link directions. [1]
Starvation describes an observation, not its cause; it does not establish cyclic buffer deadlock. See the worked credit-window examples on the companion technology card. [2]
