iSCSI autosense

iSCSI autosense delivers sense data within a CHECK CONDITION command response.

Delivery: RFC 7143 requires targets to enable autosense, avoiding a separate REQUEST SENSE exchange for that response's detail. [1]

Parsing: First inspect the iSCSI Response field. A nonzero value makes the SCSI Status field undefined; receivers must ignore it. BUSY and TASK SET FULL are not CHECK CONDITION. [1]

  • The mandatory delivery rule is specific to iSCSI; this entry does not prescribe recovery for every SCSI transport.
