Read-after-write verification

Read-after-write verification checks stored data after a write, with comparison guarantees determined by the verification mechanism.

Do not equate a completion or persistence acknowledgement with an independent byte comparison. In the cited SCSI manual, the comparison mode matters even for WRITE AND VERIFY. [1] This term concerns storage checking, not distributed-system read-after-write consistency.
