SCSI GET LBA STATUS
SCSI GET LBA STATUS reports logical-block provisioning information for returned address ranges.
The 16-byte and 32-byte command variants return extent descriptors, not file contents. The starting LBA, response-size limit and report type determine the requested view; returned coverage must be checked before treating it as a device-wide map. [1]
The report-type-processed (RTP) bit indicates whether the requested filtering was honored. A query does not guarantee a consistent snapshot: concurrent changes may make its report inconsistent or outdated. [2]
Offline decoding is another boundary. In Hesela's synthetic-capture test, two identified sg_get_lba_status builds printed two descriptor rows from a header-only input and returned success. Validate captured byte counts independently; a complete response frame still need not cover the device. This is a parser observation, not a hardware experiment. [3]

Limitations
- A reported deallocated extent does not measure physical capacity recovered or establish sanitization. [2]
