SFF-TA-1007 specifies the device housing, card-edge position, front-panel and latch mounting, and indicator placement for a compatible 1U host. The long form factor is distinct from E1.S rather than an alternative name for EDSFF. [1]

Its intended use includes high-capacity storage, but the form factor alone supplies no capacity or endurance rating for an individual SSD. [2]

Nominal width and length are 38.4 and 318.75 mm; thickness options are 9.5 and 18 mm. Include latch and front-plate projections when checking the bay. [1]
