NVMe Host Controlled Thermal Management
NVMe Host Controlled Thermal Management is a controller feature through which a host configures temperature targets for automatic transitions to lower-power active power states or vendor-specific thermal actions.
Feature Identifier 10h sets TMT1 and TMT2 in kelvins; they are distinct from warning and critical composite thresholds. A zero disables the respective HCTM setting. [1] SMART transition counts and action timers describe HCTM activity, with times in seconds and saturation at 0xFFFFFFFF; zero can mean no recorded activity or an unimplemented field. [1] [2]

Limitations
- Light and heavy throttling are examples, not fixed performance-loss percentages; these counters do not enumerate every vendor thermal action. [1, 2]
