iSCSI Status Sequence Number

An iSCSI Status Sequence Number (StatSN) numbers target responses within one connection for status acknowledgement and recovery.

The initiator acknowledges status through ExpStatSN. Separate connections have separate counters, so their numeric values are not a session-wide completion clock. [1]

The paired analysis includes an illustrative cross-connection trace, not measured traffic. [2]
