NAND self-recovery

NAND self-recovery is the partial relaxation of cycling-induced cell degradation during time between stress events.

HeatWatch links this behavior to unintended trapped-charge release and distinguishes it from retention loss of stored data [1]. Recovery is partial and dependent on device conditions; it does not restore lost files or reset a drive's endurance rating.
